SAAB 29 Tunnan was a ground braking new jet when it first flew in 1948. It shared it's features with the American F86 Sabre and the Soviet Mig 15 as they all were based on the same German research retrieved after the war. Tunnan saw service in both fighter and reconnaissance roles in the Swedish Air Force. Some 30 Tunnan also saw service in the Austrian Air Force. It participated in the UN mission in Kongo in the early 60:s.
These are pictures of a SAAB J 29F Tunnan (fighter) displayed at Aeroseum in Gothenburg (Göteborg) and no less than three SAAB S 29C (reconnaissance) displayed at Västerås flygmuseum, Linköping, Sweden (two planes) and Flygvapenmuseet, Linköping, Sweden.
